If you will be attending the Miami F1 Grand Prix this year, you might want to add additional outings to your itinerary. Since Miami has a dynamic arts and culture scene there is plenty to do and see when it comes to museums, galleries, art installations and performances.

Have a look at some of these six things you might want to take in while you’re in the Magic City:

Wynwood Art District

Hire a golf cart to zip around the Wynwood District marveling at the tremendous talent of artists who created more than 50 wall murals in the heart of Miami’s exciting street art district. The Wynwood Walls Urban Graffiti Art Museum highlights works by Shephard Fairey, DFace and many other urban artists. Getting around in a cart will save your feet from swelling and aching and give you a bit of a cool breeze. But if you don’t mind walking, you could hire a guide for a private tour. This is the ideal activity to snap some colorful photos.

Institute of Contemporary Art Miami

Innovative, contemporary art has a home in the Institute of Contemporary Art Miami (ICA Miami). The institute provides a platform for the work of local, emerging and under-recognized artists while at the same time advancing public appreciation and understanding of modern art. Artists featured at ICA Miami this year include Betye Saar, Jadé Fadojutimi, Hugh Hayden, Ellen Lesperance, Shuvinai Ashoona, Harold Mendez, and Anthea Hamilton.

Opera Gallery Miami

Head to Paradise Plaza to get a glimpse of what is on offer at Opera Gallery. The Miami location is one of 13 in arts capitals like New York, Aspen, London, Paris, Monaco, Geneva, Zurich, Beirut, Hong Kong, Singapore and Seoul. The gallery represents a wide variety of artists and styles featuring painting, sculpture, and photography. Here, you will find works of artists such as Marc Chagall, Keith Haring, Damien Hirst, Robert Indiana, Roy Lichtenstein, Joan Miro, Pablo Picasso, Andy Warhol, Tom Wesselmann, Fernando Botero and others.

Florida Grand Opera

Stay in Miami post the F1 Grand Prix to catch soprano Christine Lyons in George Frideric Handel’s Agrippina at the Florida Grand Opera. Agrippina is one of opera’s fiercest leading ladies. When she hears her husband Claudius has died in a storm at sea, Agrippina plots to secure the throne of the Roman Empire for her son, Nero. This opera is filled with exciting music accompanying the most impressive vocal fireworks. Devious plots, love and obsession with power – Agrippina is on par with any of today’s popular telenovelas in Latin America. Agrippina runs from May 14-17 and again on May 19.

New World Symphony

Highly-gifted music program graduates are given the chance to share their talents in the New World Symphony (NWS). The group consists of 87 young musicians granted fellowships for up to three years with the aim of preparing them for leadership roles in orchestras and ensembles around the world. Enjoy an afternoon or evening of chamber music, orchestra concerts and special events. Prior to attending the Miami F1 Grand Prix, you might want to take some time to relax on Sunday, May 1 with the Schubert Octet performing chamber music – part of the Chamber Music Series. NWS Fellows and acclaimed guest artists collaborate at these intimate concerts, performing a wide range of repertoire for small ensembles.

After you have enjoyed the concert, head back to Villa Diana for a beverage or two alongside the outdoor pool. This incredibly impressive waterfront home has a clean, no fuss, haute couture interior with bright spaces and floor to ceiling windows letting the rays flood all spaces. Dance Now! Miami

This dance troupe has offered Miami 22 years of inspiration, education and entertainment through the art of dance. From May 12-14, Dance Now! will be performing with the Limón Company from New York. Performances will include works by Jose Limón, one of the founders of modern dance, and will feature The Waldstein Sonata danced by both companies together on one stage. This weekend of dance should not be missed if you’re still in the area after attending the Miami Grand Prix.

And if you chose to stay at Villa Roxanne, you probably will still be in the area because this exceptional home fronting the water, is a hard place to leave. The view of downtown Miami is breathtaking. After a day of sightseeing, relax in the sauna and go for a swim in the outdoor pool.
